Aerapy is excited to introduce our new upper air ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI or UV) unit the Zone180. Available as Zone180-16 and Zone180-24, this wall mounted (plug in or direct wired) upper room UV equipment was created for indoor environments with less square footage than those suitable for our popular Zone360 Series. The Zone180-16 features one integrated fan and is designed for rooms less than 250 sq. ft. in size while the Zone180-24 features two integrated fans to create powerful airflow for rooms up to 400 sq. ft. Louvers direct UV-C rays away from the room below. It’s these UV rays that emit a “kill zone” in the upper portions of rooms so pathogens are tackled not only when drawn into the device but also when exposed to UV in the zone.

The CDC and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), are just two of the authorities that recommend upper air UV as a means of improving indoor air quality and controlling the spread of infectious diseases. In the context of the current pandemic, the CDC updated its guidelines to “consider using ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) as a supplement to help inactivate SARS-CoV-2, especially if options for increasing room ventilation are limited. Upper-room UVGI systems can be used to provide air cleaning within occupied spaces…”

We’re proud to have our patent pending Zone180 join our other upper air UV solutions including the Zone360 and our PSF Series which tackles the same room sizes as the Zone180 but for those who prefer a contained device.
